Maxine Claire Cooper
Jane Drexler: All going well, just have to tidy up my form to submit to the Department of Fair Trading, which will be done this week.
Nadine Hoover: Doing very well. Meeting with Petrus once a week and things for Peace Place are moving forward nicely. They are hoping Petrus will take on more of the communication.
Gay Howard: Doing well. Hoping for a translation for a letter she received. She will reply in English.
Chris Hughes
Margie Hunter – I’m not able to make this meeting this month. I’m working late and won’t be able to get home in time. I’ll look forward to hearing you all in April.
Valerie Joy: Well and enjoying her Power of Goodness book. Busy with AVP in Queensland
Fenna Mandolang; Busy with her family over the weekend. They are engaged in trying to organise how they get together.
Tom Martin – All is well, and seldom better. I look forward to the Face to Face gathering of the FPT Council in Olympia Washington (State) on 5/18 and 19, with the PeaceQuest Day on that Saturday with workshops and panel discussions. It’s terrific that Nadine will be there also. The work on the AWP Sustainer’s Policy and Description is going well, also.
John Michaelis: John got a chance to talk to Tom at length, then with Nadine and then with the chorus to plan another fundraiser for Nepal. That was refreshing.
Petrus: I’m well. Last week I talked a lot with Nadine about Peace Place and developing AVP in Indonesia, and talked with Mislan in Sumatra and Fauziah in Aceh, and I have sent a report to AVP International about our activities nationally. An interesting thing was that AVP was very concerned about the psychological aspects that Friends Peace Teams is so clear about. But it turned out that Mary at AVP International was not familiar with FPT-AWP and it was good to introduce them to our work. Bronwen Hillman was on the call and was able to explain about Friends Peace Teams.
Nick Rozard – Sends his regrets as he is attending a firefighting class.
Elizabeth Walmsley – I have to send my regrets as I have a racism and oppression workshop tonight. Also, I have a continuing family emergency, intermittent electricity this week, and everything else has been busy. I am hoping to get to a place of “normal” soon.
Deb Wood – no word, not on Skype tonight.
Josh Albertson – Fenna has asked that I keep track of your funds as treasurer, so let me know what you need.

Thank you to Josh to offer to serve as the US Treasurer.

Requests for the Working Group
I would like to update contact info for all the Working Group members/Volunteers including adding the email address each person uses to access google docs.

Request: I am updating contact information. Please send me your current mailing address, phone number, skype name, and email addresses especially the email address you use to access google docs if it is different from your regular email address.

In addition to the routine tasks, in February, I updated calendars and worked on a potential trip for Jamuna to the USA. I also spent a chunk of time on the sustainers’ program working with John Kintree on tracking the financial data as well as with members of the working group drafting a policy statement and promotional materials. I have also begun to put together a Spring mailing.

People who have expressed an interest:
Name email Date of last contact Interest
Rachel Bond  12/21/2015 doing service work abroad with a Quaker organization… 6 to 12 months Nadine replied to her, waiting for her to respond.

Joanne Lauterjung Kelly  1/25/2016 We’re thinking of going to Bali during water festival in April, which got me thinking about a side trip to meet you. I’m still very interested in the work you’re doing, and am wondering if sometime during the 2nd half of April you’d be available to meet with me?Nadine replied copying in Nanik and Petrus inviting her to visit Peace Place

Sustainers due (contact month listed as March):

RiseUp Members ADDED this month:

RiseUp Members ASKED to be removed this month:

RiseUp Members deleted due to bouncing email:

Treasurer: no report this month

Resources Needed:
Fund Jamuna Shrestha to visit Bhutanese refugees resettled in the US (US$2,400). Baltimore would probably be one of the three communities scheduled for the visit. Margie has offered to read and give feedback to Elizabeth and help this work move forward.
Support an Afghani women’s rights activist to join the International Workshop in Java (US$2,000) early in 2016! If we can do it for Jan 2017 with Miriam, otherwise we should delete this.
Support a Palestinian women’s counselor to join the International Workshop in Java (US$2,000) early in 2017! Miriam Abu Turk asked for this, but Joe DiGarbo does not think Jan 2016 is the right time. Maybe Jan 2017.
Youth manual translation into Nepali . $3-4,000 US dollars
We affirmed Subhash and John’s recommendation to fund $2,700 from the Nepal Fund to Ram to translate the Youth Manual into Nepali, encouraging him to write a number of e-news stories about this commitment, experience and accomplishment. (Initiative Coordinators Report)

Decisions/Actions: none
Jenna put together the hog-pog of information on the Sustainer Fund and asked for help in preparing it from Deb Wood, Gay Howard, Tom Martin, and Nadine Hoover, who have developed some writing that will come to the group this month. Please send feedback when you get it.

Closing word:
Josh Albertson- Pax vobiscom
Nadine Hoover – important work in the world
Gay Howard – more connected
Valerie Joy – hopeful expectation
Fenna Mandolang – sprouting
